All spinning. All speaking. All at once.
And maybe its just me, but the tone feels different lately. Almost...apocalyptic. It's as if we've started looking around and collectively sighed, "It's just too much." Before your breathing gets shallow, pause. Let's look at another time when things were murky.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Genesis 1:1-2 (ESV)
God brought order to chaos. He created everything we see, including the eyeballs we use to see, out of nothing.
But here’s the catch: the same “conditions” listed in Genesis are the ones we often use as excuses not to create.
Without Form
We say, "I don't know where to start."
But God isn’t intimidated by blank pages. He knows how to make something from scratch.
Void
We say: “It hasn’t been done before.”
But God delights in making new things. That’s kind of His specialty.
Darkness
We say: “I can’t see what I’m doing.”
David reminds us: “The darkness is as light to You.” (Psalm 139:12)

The Challenge
Think about that project you’ve set aside. The one that popped into your head while reading this.
Bring it before the LORD.
Ask him what He thinks.
Tell him where you’re honestly at.
For some of us, this is going to press on some sore spots. And that's okay.
Here’s the truth: our default response to chaos is usually control.
And sometimes, quitting is a form of control.
It doesn’t look like it at first, but it’s still us calling the shots: “I decide the outcome. It doesn’t happen.”
But what would happen if you let God in?
What would you make?
What would you build?
Create in the midst of chaos.
You might just find it was the perfect setup.
